COMPARATIVE TEST
Chip chairs are strong, no doubt, they are indeed performing better than chairs with metallic reinforcement both in static weight tests and dynamic weight tests (Chair Drop Functional Load A 300 lb weight is positioned 6 above the seat of the chair and allowed to free-fall onto the center of the seat).
Just to give you an idea, we took the best chair with metallic reinforcement from the competition:

FOLDING CHAIR CLEANING
"How do I clean my resin folding chairs?" is probably the most common question that our customers submit. We usually suggest:
clean with water and mild soap for dust and common dirt of the everyday use. On dark colors you will only need to remove dust
when hard to clean marks are found on the WHITE chairs ONLY, SOFT SCRUB or equivalent products are a good alternative
if heavier dirt is found on our chairs they can be washed with steam. It can take out almost every kind of dirt and the oily greasy spots. This is a little more radical of the treatment, and attention must be paid to the temperatures involved in order not to melt the chairs. The operating 212°F-230°F temperature range is considered safe. Steam cleaning should be performed from time to time and only when really needed.
And....yes, Drake resin folding chairs both Structure and Chip, can be washed in automatic chair washing machines. We do not supply "CLEAN CHAIR" machines, but you can contact the manufacturer directly:

FOLDING CHAIR HANDLING
The best way is folding them, stack them, cover them, and tighten.
A chair pallet protecting the first chair of the stack is a must.
With regular chair pallet you can move the chairs using a hand-truck conveniently. At Drake, we supply chair pallets that can be used both with hand truck for deliveries, and with pallet-jacks for warehouse moving of multiple stacks at a time.
Some of our customers use PE film to wrap the chairs for storage or transportation.
Bright side: PE film is cheap.
Problem: using PE film protects the chairs from the warehouse to the customer, but very seldom workers take the same care in packing to bring the chairs back from the customer to the warehouse after the event.
We supply covers, which are strong, protective, and easy to use for every chair move (both to and from the customer). When you are using a cover: that's it, chair-handlers must use it every time, even for re-pack from the customer to your warehouse, because it is there, and it is easy to put on the stack.
25 chairs per stack is a good number because it eases up counting.

WHAT IF I CANNOT USE STACKS?
This happens when your customers are picking up the chairs themselves, and the means of transportation that they use are not standard (they might range from a 2 seat convertible, to a minivan, or a pick-up truck). In this situation, the smartest thing to do is: BAG THEM.

New like in NEW CHAIRS by DRAKE, and going toward a GREEN direction. Our new line of folding chairs is made of plastic recycled materials for the environmentally friendly market. Colors available are light brown, gray, mauve and aquamarine.
WHAT
The biggest challenge, was to be able to UP-QUALIFY the plastic recycled compound, mixing it with secret ingredients in order to provide chairs that respect our tough requirements in terms of strength and quality.
WHY
Environmental sensitivity, without compromising the demanding performances requested from our regular chairs... the best on the market of course.
MORE
The new recycled chairs have the same longevity of our traditional chairs. The main difference with chairs made with virgin material is color: they are not made in white. Our new recycled chairs are available in a range of soft colors. Due to the fact that we cannot contrast colors from previous applications, the colors in recycled chairs are rich with shades resembling the natural variety that can be found in wood materials. They are kind of super-cool actually!!!

Fan are well known folding and stacking chairs by Drake. The new Fan chairs by Drake, are now manufactured with the back completely integrated into the chair frame. The decision to move toward this solution, was made to both increase the comfort of the back, and improve the aesthetics of the chair.
In the new chair, the materials of the back and the frame are now consistent in resistance and color. The back is very flexible to meet higher comfort standards and to make the entire chair more impact resistant at the same time. The new backs have been furthermore designed to have a smooth surface that's not textured, which makes it much easier to clean. Texture is known to be used in plastic to hide defects. As we do not need to hide anything... we decided to ease up the life of the people that work with our products lifting the Fan chair to new, higher standards!!!

CHIAVARI CHAIR HANDLING
The best way is stack them, cover them, and tighten. A chair pallet is always handy (the protection of the first chair of the stack is less critical than in folding stacking chairs operations, but VERY useful).
With our chairs, we use plastic custom made pallets, or regular wood pallets with pallet shoes that secure the first chair of the stack to the pallet itself. A chair pallet protects the first chair of the stack and eases up stack handling with both hand-trucks or pallet-jacks. Some of our customers use PE film to wrap the chair for storage or transport.
Bright side: PE film is cheap.
Problem: using PE film protects the chairs from the warehouse to the customer, but very seldom workers take the same care in packing to bring the chairs back from the customer to the warehouse after the event.
We supply covers, which are strong, protective, and easy to use for every chair move (both to and from the customer). When you are using a cover: that's it, chair-handlers must use it every time, even for re-pack from the customer to your warehouse, because it is there, and it is easy to put on the stack.

CHIAVARI CHAIRS WAREHOUSING
The DRAKE "pallet shoes" for Chiavari chairs, can be screwed into a wood pallet and secure the first chair of the stack to the pallet. A 48"x20" wood pallets, fits 2 stacks of chairs back to back (5+5 chairs or 6+6 chairs). A similar pallet can be moved easily with a hand-truck as well as with a pallet-jack.
A regular 48"x42" pallet equipped with pallet shoes, fits 4 stacks of chairs back to back (5+5+5+5=20 chairs or 6+6+6+6=24 chairs). Chairs have to be strapped and secured for additional safety. Higher stacks, of 7, 8, 9 or 10 chairs can be used, depending on the goal: maximize warehouse space (static skids) or ease of handling.

DRAKE CHIAVARI Chairs stack so nicely that we have to remind you:
higher stacks are more unstable than short ones. For static stacks, the number of chairs in a stack is not an issue, but if you are moving your stacks, do not exceed in the number of chairs stacked: SAFETY COMES FIRST, ALWAYS!!!!
Do not attempt to make similar high stacks with woods.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Buying our products means never having to paint a chair again. Because the colors of our products run all the way through them they will never need painting. The only ordinary maintenance required is a wipe down with a mild liquid detergent and water.
Besides regular cleaning, check the chair structural integrity and screws every time before use.
In the event of damage due to extremely rough handling, do not attempt to glue broken parts back together. Call us at 732 254 1530 for spare parts. We'll be there to assist you in the best way we can.

After 10 years and more than a million chairs made, we will be introducing to the market an idea which will reflect our real commitment to the environment.
Since the beginning, we have been advertising that our chairs are recyclable. In speaking with our customer we have realized that they almost last forever. However some (very few) are so old and abused that they need to be retired.
With this in mind in the beginning of 2009 we will start our new chair to chair program. We will retrofit them into brand new chairs (the colors available will be only beige, gray, aquamarine and mauve) bringing them back into the circle of life.
Of course this program accepts only Drake chairs or chairs made under Drakes license. We need to be sure of the material used as they will be reborn with our label and guarantee.
In a struggling economy and in hard and uncertain economic times, DRAKE is proud to say that our products are Made in the USA and we continue to contribute to and support the U.S. economy with cost-effectiveness and by creating jobs.

The decision to move toward this solution, was made both to increase the comfort of the back, and improve the aesthetics of the chair.
In the new chair, the materials of the back and the frame are now consistent in resistance and color.
