| On Drake chairs, the load rests on the bars supporting the seat, NOT on the screws, with a double locking safety cantilever feature. |
Lots of competitors’ chairs have the load weighting on the screws only. Furthermore some of them are equipped with aluminum screws instead of stainless steel. The aluminum oxide that protects this metal from further oxidation is constantly removed by the friction during opening and closing of the chair, making the screw disappear in time and destined to fail. |
